Twelve Years a Slave (2013)
In my opinion, all three movies that I am going to discuss in this paper are more or less helpful for those people who want to learn about the U.S. culture. The first film is Twelve Years a Slave, a powerful saga that does not leave anyone indifferent (“22 films to help you know,” 2019). It is based on the true and rather touching story of Solomon Northup, a brave African American with a difficult fate. Any foreigner watching this masterpiece may understand that the Americans are people with strong characters born to survive any ordeals. Through this movie, persons from other countries can learn about the division in the lives of the U.S. citizens and the horrors of racism slavery was brought to an end after the Civil War. This film is a real celebration of the human spirit, which tells much about the culture of America.
Isn’t It Romantic (2019)
To be honest, this movie may not seem helpful for foreigners, but this is not just another simple romantic motion picture. This film teaches people from other countries that America is the country of liberty and free choice, and no one can ever tell a person what he or she is capable of. All U.S. citizens are worthy of everything they want to have or achieve – all they need is to believe in it and stop listening to those who tell them otherwise.
Chef (2014)
This entertaining motion picture is a great visual pleasure that may be helpful in learning about the culture of the Americans. After packing up their lives and starting a new journey in the U.S., hundreds of thousands of people were smart enough to bring the traditional foods with them (“22 films to help you know,” 2019). Nowadays, American culture celebrates delicious, simple, and delectable food, and foreigners may understand this from this movie.
