In today’s world, working with computers is an integral part of a company’s success. Proper organization of this process and following trends in technology can lead the company to achieve significant results. Virtual Computing is one of the advanced technological tools that significantly simplify the work of the organization. According to Simpson and Novak (2017) “Virtual Computing is the process of empowering high-powered computer systems to run multiple operating systems, reducing the number of physical computers needed in the data center.” (p. 2). It is worth emphasizing that virtual computing is implemented not only in the work of businesses and companies, but also in other areas of human activity, such as education.
As mentioned above, virtual computing allows organizations to reduce the amount of technical equipment required to work successfully. It will have a positive impact both on the reduction of process equipment costs and on the saving of physical space. Unlike traditional infrastructure, however, virtual infrastructure requires software costs. In order to provide high-quality performance, purchasing and upgrading services such as cloud services and storage or other applications is necessary. It is also important to note that since data is stored in the cloud, data center storage systems are required to run virtual computing (Simpson and Novak, 2017).
Virtual Computing offers a wide range of features for various tasks, such as using cloud services, remote file management, or sharing applications. The benefits of Virtual Computing can be distinguished according to the purpose and nature of such work. The main advantage of Virtual Computing is remote access to data at any time (Selvaraj et al., 2021). Virtual Computing saves the organization’s equipment costs and greatly increases the staff’s efficiency and flexibility. Virtual Computing also enhances the security of the organization’s files and documents by using cloud services (Tariq et al., 2022).
