Security Issues in the 21st Century: An Ethical Challenge of Privacy

In the current essay, a 21st-century ethical issue will be presented and discussed on how it can affect both the organization and society. For the paper, an ethical challenge of privacy was chosen, as it is one of the main problems of the modern world. Besides, changes that could have been made to prevent or approach the ethical dilemma will be evaluated and addressed in the essay.

For the paper, an ethical challenge of privacy was chosen. Today, people share an immense amount of private data every day, and it is essential to regulate what the given information is used for. Nowadays, the central problem lies in the existing dichotomy. On the one hand, national governments impose new legislation that aims at protecting our rights for privacy. However, on the other hand, technological development is extremely rapid in a way that it is hardly possible for legislators to follow adequately (Maxfield, 2019). The issue can negatively impact both the organization and society. For instance, it might be difficult for companies to concentrate on all new legislation to avoid breaking the law and protect customers and employees. It is the same problem for ordinary people to control their personal information and study numerous documents when sharing it. There is no straightforward solution to this ethical issue, as it is complicated enough. Nevertheless, countries should cooperate and search for collective solutions, as the issue is global and affects everyone regardless of national borders.

In conclusion, the ethical issue of privacy and its impact on the organization and society was discussed. Moreover, a brief opinion on possible solutions to the dilemma was evaluated. Privacy is seen as an essential right that everyone should have. However, rapid technological advances question the possibility of protecting this right. As the issue is global, it is vital to solve it by cooperating through various international organizations.
