Art Classes’ Efficiency in Different Regions

Art Classes in Boston and Baltimore

Conkling, S., & Kaufman, B. (2020). Equality and quality: The influence of private funds in public arts education in Boston and Baltimore. Arts Education Policy Review, 121(1), 10-22.

In the article is examined the influence of private foundation funding on arts policy and practice in two large but “failing” school districts: Boston Public Schools and Baltimore City Schools. The authors attract attention to the issue of the quality and efficiency of art education in American schools. I chose this article because it is useful for my essay as it proves that not every student can get the appropriate level of art studies due to money shortage. This is a huge problem that needs to be elucidated to provide high-quality art classes for future students.

Aesthetic Perceptions of Art Educators

Miralay, F., & Egitmen, Z. (2019). Aesthetic Perceptions of Art Educators in Higher Education Level at Art Classes and Their Effect on Learners. Cypriot Journal of Educational Sciences, 14(2), 352-360.

In this article attention is attracted to the point of the theory-creativity ratio and its influence on the studies in different educational institutions around Turkey. This topic is important to me as I as a student have to learn huge amounts of theory often without implementing my knowledge in real life. This article is chosen for my essay because of the urgency of the issue of increasing the efficiency of students’ studies. A lot of time is stent over books but little knowledge gained during the art studies. The article provides information that helps in building a better system, increasing productivity, and creating good specialists.

Art Classes for Festivals

Radomskaya, O. I., & Boyakova, E. V. (2020). Potential of art classes in preparing adolescents and youth to participation in festivals. Utopia y Praxis Latinoamericana, 25(1), 244-251.

In this article the authors examine whether art classes at school prepare teenagers to the practical use of the gained knowledge. I chose this article because it is important for me to understand how to implement my knowledge in real life: as a volunteer participating in various festivals or future employment. Instead of showing theoretical aspects of art studies, the authors engage the readers in practical experience and try to prove that theory is not the most significant pert of art classes. I want to discover the topic of applying my knowledge to solving real problems, and it important for me to know whether my attainments are appropriate or not.

Philosophy of Art in Turkey

Süzen, H. N. (2020). The evaluation of students’ perceptions of philosophy of art. African Educational Research Journal, 8(2), 12-19.

The author of the article assumes that studying psychology of art may be more interesting if the students are taking part in the lectures and traditional studying methods are given up. They attract attention to modern methods of increasing the productivity that were elaborated through interviews and experiments with art students. It is important for me to understand how to be more involved into studying art and what methods are more effective to improve my productivity. It also gives another more practical insight on the nature of efficiency and methods of its cultivation which is useful for my essay.
