The American Cancer Society (ACS) can help disseminate cancer statistics by making them widely available. It also has access to a diverse set of research studies that could benefit individuals, such as those focused on better pain management. Some studies are useful and sufficient to help people.
Patients who desire to learn more about a specific disease can receive assistance in planning for potential treatment complications and disease progression. ACS may also initiate new projects in which people can participate, such as new treatments or research into various types of psychological assistance for this population (Sharma et al., 2021). If the healthcare professional feels it is exceptionally helpful to the person being treated, they may suggest it.
Nursing Process and Effective Care for Cancer Patients
Nurses have profound relationships with their patients. They spend the majority of their time observing cancer patients, caring for them, and monitoring how their physical and mental well-being changes. When conducting research, it is common to require assistance from a nurse. Nursing staff are privy to data that scientists can use across fields (Monshi et al., 2020). To obtain the required data, the researcher repeatedly asks the nurse to answer questions. This allows researchers to conduct more efficient searches and data collection.
The care process for a patient with bone cancer can be divided into 5 steps: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the early stages of evaluating a patient’s condition, it is critical to collect both objective and subjective data on cancer. Subjective data consists of what the patient says and what family members say (Miller et al., 2020). Skin color, weight, and height are examples of objective data that can be measured and analyzed. After planning, the nurse must actively participate in implementing this plan, including active interventions, and evaluate how it works for the patient.
After the diagnosis of bone cancer is detected, the caregiver individually plans the course of care based on the condition of the patient and personal demands. It could include special treatment to reduce the most severe complications. Nurses should be prepared for any consequences of the illness. A healthcare professional has first to satisfy the patient’s basic needs, then provide security, alleviate isolation, and reduce loneliness. Also, caregivers must evaluate how well the nursing process functions and how effectively it improves over time.
