Introduction
Hard work refers to putting effort or working tirelessly towards achieving the desired goal. On the other hand, talent is a natural skill or ability to do something without training. I consider hard work to be the most significant aspect of talent. This is because whenever one puts effort into something and does it with passion and persistence they can gain understanding and expertise, hence attaining desired results. In simple terms, hardworking people tend to realize their talent due to dedication to the activity.
Importance of Hard Work over Talent
Most talented individuals tend to be reluctant to execute their mandate. People might not have talent but put effort and perform better than the talented ones. With hard work, a person gets to acquire material information and necessary expertise for any kind of service. This supports the fact that hard work is necessary for anyone to be successful. Through practice and personal efforts, one can discover diverse abilities which mostly develop into talent.
Personal Example of Hard Work
For every success, there is always an effort behind it. Hard work is always critical in achieving a specific goal. One needs to be persistent and have the desire that drives one to be successful. For example, when I was 12 years of age, I participated in athletics. Although I was incredibly talented in the line, I always spent vast chunks of my time practicing tirelessly. My coach would always push me more complex to do better. He could always give me examples of Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, and Serena Williams, who, besides their natural talents, practiced with a lot of determination.
How Hard Work Leads to Talent Discover
Talent needs to be improved with progressive efforts for skill to be valuable. A talented person needs to do what is necessary to make it viable. For example, if someone knows how to play the guitar, they can only improve their skills by playing it severally, or else they will be outdone by people who find their way around the instrument. In addition, a songwriter or a musician could probably not be the best but still be able to carry on and outshine their competitors (Elder and Paul 64). Most of them do not just sit on their coaches; instead, they sharpen their talent by constantly staying active in their field.
Hard work is always a distinguishing factor between people with the same talent. It is used as a catalyst for winning on most occasions. Most people work hard to prepare and enhance their natural skills, unlike others who think they are talented and fail to work on their gifts (Elder and Paul 58). For example, at my working place, our boss always promotes those who work better and with more determination than others. He always gives the most hardworking employees bonuses and even raises their positions. His effort to reward his employees makes them work hard, thus certifying output.
A talent can be useless if there is no hard work involved. Talent and effort need to go hand in hand for an excellent result. Talent can give one a good beginning, but to get to the end, people need to work extra hard. Hard work can always inspire one to achieve their goal. For example, for students to perform well in class, they need to study hard that way, they can get good grades and take the top positions in class. Hard work always acts as a booster to any form of talent.
In most cases, hard work can reveal a new talent. This is derived from the urge to do something more useful. A unique gift gives people the strength to push on with their work. The new talent is sometimes thought to be innate, which is always not true, but the fact is that it is a result of hard work. Most people across the globe have achieved their goals by working hard. We tend to admire successful people and fail to understand the work they have employed for their success.
We also need to understand that they are likely to have poor outcomes when they underestimate hard work. For quality outputs, one needs to combine both talent and hard work. With skill and hard work, the result is always excellent. A person does not need to have an exceptional talent to emerge victoriously; all they need is hard work to be feasible. The practice finally leads to the realization of the potential that one possesses. For example, there might be several shops at a particular place selling similar products. In this case, success will be determined by one’s hard work, especially in product promotion. The effort they put in will determine how much they can sell.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it is clear that both talent and hard work are significant, but to discover a skill, they need first to be hard-working. People are always born with different abilities that require effort to be found. For this reason, we need to work on our gifts to be productive. When one interacts with people and practices their talent, they grow and develop new tactics. Working hard will always be the key to success and determine what one achieves.
