Employee Orientation and Training Checklist

The first day at work is integral for everyone after being employed. The new employees meet new people, fill out paperwork, and learn about the organization’s work culture. Orientation is very important for new hires because it helps them learn about the company and understand how it works (Pathiranage, 2019). Before working as an executive administrative assistant, the person must sign the school’s healthcare benefits form. According to company rules, the person must turn in the report of their full-body checkup. Before joining the school, the person must provide important information like proof of education, proof of address, and government-issued IDs like a social security number. Therefore, orientation is crucial to employees in their first days of employment.

Following hiring an executive administration assistant at school, the person is provided with training dates and further information regarding the training program. The newly employed administrator assistant receives from the employer, as part of the training program, a handbook of the training program in which every aspect of the training plan is described in depth (Pathiranage, 2019). In addition, the handbook includes training information that the corporation adheres to religiously and that the newly appointed office administrator should also adhere to. The school administrator is supposed to have access to his email and passwords. The email that was provided to the office administrator would receive all of the required information as well as any updates to that information.

Moreover, there are other components included in the orientation program that the executive administration assistants must know. When a person is hired to work as an administrative assistant in an office, the person is given access to security swipe cards. In addition, the individual receives a personal card bearing their designation and contact information. As soon as the individual begins working for the school, they are enrolled in all of the organization’s official organizations. The office administration assistant is granted access to the shared files and papers used throughout the firm. After that, the person will have access to the files and documents and may even be able to make changes. The school’s newly hired office administration assistant participates in an informative and helpful orientation program.

On the first day of work, the executive administrative assistant can meet each staff member assigned to work in the office. The newly recruited assistant is then taken on a tour of the facility, during which they are shown the school compound, restrooms, offices, conference rooms, and other facilities in the school. During the orientation, the institution’s most recent and long-term objectives will be discussed with the administrator. Additionally, the office administrator is informed of the chain of command. They are providing them with the names and email addresses of everyone who works in the school. As a result, a newly recruited individual for the position should be introduced to existing employees.

The school gives the administration assistant information regarding the policies, rules, and expected code of conduct. The orientation program will provide the office administrator with knowledge of all of the safety measures and exits available in case of an emergency (Pathiranage, 2019). This is done to ensure they are safe while working in the school. In addition, the office administrator advises on how to organize conferences and meetings in the school on behalf of the Vice-Principal. This ensures that they are conversant with the norms around organizing formal and informal meetings. Therefore, the policies guide a recruit on what is expected to operate smoothly in the school.

There are different reasons why employees leave their employment. An employee’s separation may occur for various reasons, including retirement, parental leave, layoffs, or termination. Organizations must have an employee separation and termination policy in place. For example, Radiate High Public School has a policy on separating or terminating employees, followed by a letter. The school follows the established Canadian laws when facing a given type of employee separation. This has helped in building a positive reputation and reducing possible litigation.
