Operational Plan
The increase of the patient volume that is aimed at providing high-quality health care to wide populations and communities can be achieved by applying different approaches. Along with such beneficial objectives as the creation of the online platform for the patients and focus on their education, there is the opportunity to hire professionals so that they can improve the quality of health care delivery. In particular, the core objective of this operational plan is to recruit Dr. Oz that is likely to lead to the 25 percent increase of the patient volume within the three months. To structure the objective, it can be divided into the following strategies: contacting the mentioned doctor, setting up a meeting to implement a contract, and producing marketing materials. Each of these strategies will be completed within a certain time frame: in 1-2, 2, and 3-5 months respectively.
Speaking of persons who are involved in the implementation of this operational plan, it is necessary to note that the Project Manager is the key responsible actor. Also, the CEO, CFO, Administrative Assistant, and so on are expected to participate in the plan. Board of Trustees, Legal Department, and Marketing Department will manage all the procedures and processes. The estimated budget details costs for each of the mentioned strategies, consisting of the following components: salary for Dr. Oz ($10, 000 per month), legal fees ($5,000 to $8,000), TV ads ($8,000), production costs ($1,500), and material costs ($2,300). Thus, the total project costs will constitute $ 34, 800.
Evaluation of the Operational Plan
The presented operational plan seems to be feasible due to a range of aspects. Perera and Peiró (2012) argue that feasible operational plans have “a fixed and recognizable duration, always less than one year, and intermediate goals can be established to be carried out in different stages over time” (752). Considering that this plan is clearly structured and has specifically outlined activities along with time frames, one may state that it is quite feasible. Furthermore, the accountable persons are pointed out and expected to manage separate stages of the project. At the same time, the Project Manager is to control all the stages, thus ensuring its appropriate and timely completion. From these observations, the operational, schedule, and economic feasibility of the plan becomes evident.
Reviewing the operational plan that was proposed above, one may note that some areas of the estimated budget may be increased or reduced, depending on particular circumstances. For example, TV ads and production costs may require more funds to provide a sufficient level of marketing materials’ production. However, legal fees may be decreased due to the productive work of the CEO with a legal counselor (Raso, 2012). These fluctuations can significantly affect the outcome of the project by either accelerating or retarding it.
However, the proposed costs are worth Return on Investment (ROI) as the breakeven price is likely to be gained in the context of the identified conditions. In other words, high ROI resulted from the increased patient volume will provide essential grounds for cost reimbursement. The successful completion of this operational plan will undoubtedly impact my practice. The potential challenges and opportunities that will occur in the course and after the implementation of this project are likely to provide me with valuable experience and practical skills. Thus, both my theoretical knowledge and practical experience will benefit from the outcome of the proposed plan, allowing me to become an expert in the field of operational planning.
