Introduction
During many decades, humanity continued to grow exponentially in its population. Many regions, such as Asia, have developed significantly and reached billions of people. Considering this fact, various concerns regarding using sources and their effectiveness occurred. One should note that the population continues to in its number fast even today. To construct a practical and logical use of resources, people should implement particular regulations to maintain their rational distribution across the regions.
Energy Production and Population Rate
The growth of the population requires additional sources for people to live. However, not only the population determines the direction of use of resources. In the video by Cole (2011), the author states that until the end of the 21st century, the growth of the population will be reduced. Even with this fact, by 2100 years, there will be about 10 billion people worldwide (Cole, 2011). Energy production is affected and defined by both the quantity of humanity and the productive and rational consumption. According to Cole (2011), “all depends on how well we manage our food, water, and energy” (00.02.00). Therefore, in my opinion, the continued population growth will not severely affect energy consumption because I believe that people will find a rational strategy for using and managing it properly.
Prices of Energy Resources
While answering the question about the prices of energy resources, it is crucial to state that it is a complex issue that incorporates many factors. Among them, one should mention the global economic-political situation, specific processes such as globalization, disease, and happenings such as wars and pandemics (Simon, 2019). I believe, another factor that will influence the consumption of energy resources and affect their prices is global warming and climate change. For example, the image shows that the most significant spending of energy is going into transportation (Estimated U.S. energy consumption, n. d.). I think that prices of energy resources such as coal, natural gas, solar, or wind will not rise significantly due to various regulations and trends toward renewable sources and electric vehicles.
Conclusion
It is important to state that the growing population rate is not only the reason for particular changes regarding energy resources’ prices and consumption. A significant number of other factors influence these processes and should be addressed promptly to construct a better living for future generations. Such aspects as politics, economic situation, and many other external factors impact the use of resources and their effectiveness.
