The first topic that influences me is psychosocial interventions for chronic illness. This subject examines how psychological assistance and social interventions may have a beneficial effect on those suffering from chronic diseases, such as those receiving hemodialysis for end-stage renal disease. Understanding these treatments entails acknowledging the significance of not only addressing the physical aspects of a disease but also the emotional and social challenges that accompany it (Barello et al., 2022).
This experience has had a profound influence on me, as it has further strengthened my passion for holistic care methods and underscored the need for integrated care tactics in my future professional endeavors. In the future, recognizing and appreciating these interventions will shape a specific approach to therapy, emphasizing the need to provide support to patients with chronic illnesses that goes beyond addressing their physical symptoms. Exploring this topic might lead me to cultivate a compassionate approach that acknowledges and integrates techniques to improve patients’ emotional and socio-economic well-being alongside medical treatment.
Technology
The second topic is the impact of technology on mental health. This issue explores the impact of technology on mental health, specifically focusing on internet-based therapies for anxiety and depression in children, adolescents, and university students. It investigates how digital technologies might enhance access to treatment and provide flexible support options. This experience has broadened my perspective on technology’s potential to address barriers to mental health services, prompting me to critically consider the interplay between technological and conventional therapeutic approaches in my future profession.
In the future, the impact of technology on mental health will lead me to integrate digital technologies into my practice while exploring the convergence of mental health and technology. This might include the use of teletherapy, online examinations, or mobile applications specifically designed to support mental health (Heredia et al., 2020). It equips them with the necessary skills to enter a profession that is rapidly merging with the technology industry and enables them to effectively navigate the advantages and challenges that accompany these changes.
Environment
The last area is the influence of the environment on mental well-being. It has been enlightening to explore the impact of social contexts, such as social networking sites, on individual mental health. The notion that environmental influences can have both beneficial and detrimental effects on our well-being inspires me to prioritize creating nurturing environments for my potential patients. It also increases my awareness of my immediate environment and its influence on my mental well-being, both as a student and as a potential professional.
Based on this research, I will recommend policy or practice modifications to improve environmental factors that influence mental well-being in the future. This consciousness might result in advocating for the inclusion of environmentally friendly areas in urban development, actively pursuing a harmonious equilibrium between work and personal life, and acknowledging the significance of social factors (Stegeman et al., 2020). These subjects have greatly influenced my educational path and will surely change my approach to my future position as a psychologist. I have developed a deep understanding and admiration for the complex aspects of mental health care and the transformative possibilities of technology in therapy.
