The article is a study of the factors that bar or facilitate evidence by staff in a vocational agency. The report addresses, among other things, the ease of locating and comprehending research findings, implementation funds, professional collaboration, and upcoming research. This article relates to the professional association because it focuses on an agency that relies on an ongoing partnership with healthcare and other human service professionals. For example, the interviewed vocational rehabilitation staff officers revealed that in the course of their duties, they collaborate with “third-party community partners, job-placement specialists, researchers, independent counselors, and social security employees” (Graham, Inge, Wehman, Murphy, Revell & West, 2013, p. 79).
The research applies to domestic dispute services because the challenges that are outlined in the study are the same as those that are encountered by trained dispute professionals. For instance, the issue of limited funding is quite prevalent in the field of domestic disputes. Another issue that might be helpful to a trained dispute professional is in the area of academic expertise. Some professionals in the domestic dispute field lack the ability to understand and synthesize complex research findings (American Psychological Association, 2009). As a trained dispute professional, one can use this study to change his/her approach when implementing evidence-based practices. For example, the study advises individuals to improve their channels of obtaining research information.
