Technology and Students’ Approaches to Communication and Education

Technological progress is constantly affecting humanity, including people’s behavior, social interactions, and information perception. This is especially noticeable in relation to the young people who were born after the Internet had become globally used. Consequently, the concept of the conventional path of development has evolved, including educational processes. Technology has affected the way students communicate, the way they access information, and how they study.

Technology has reshaped the way students communicate with their professors, their peers, and their schools. First, with such messengers as WhatsApp and Messenger, pupils have more freedom of asking tutors questions. They learn to foster polite dialogues and gain more self-assurance than their parents could. Second, messengers make them able to exchange ideas on tasks and brainstorm.

Regarded as inappropriate ten years ago, now such interactions motivate students to collaborate with their peers. Third, pupils can start their dialogues with schools’ governance via emails to make suggestions promptly, while their parents had to wait for the school council to find the time for their claims. With technical upgrades, children develop their skills of official communication. Meanwhile, they enforce unity and empathy and develop such personal qualities as well.

Technology has changed the way students perceive information and study. First, such tools as Skype and Discord enable contemporary youngsters to study at home. Consequently, they feel less pressure than they could in physical schools. Relaxed and calm, they are ready to consume more knowledge. Second, discussion boards develop visual memory and creativity being just a tool of information representation, earlier, such mental growth required special techniques and exercises. Third, online lessons and Internet access enable children to explore the studied matter more quickly. The reason for this is the absence of noise in the classroom and the lack of distractions caused by classmates. Consequently, technology has formed a useful platform for the better uptake of educational content.

Technology has significantly influenced the way of students to communicate with each other, tutors, and educational establishments. Then, their method of accessing information has also significantly evolved with such new tools as WhatsApp, Messenger, Skype, and Discord. The results of these changes are positive, with pupils’ personal and social skills developing faster via online communication. Meanwhile, the knowledge is being acquired more efficiently due to the comfortable ground for study.
