Introduction
In the modern world, information technology, mobile communications, and television are becoming increasingly significant. The leading role is played by wireless and wired Internet network, which is not only a source of information, but also a universal environment for communication, entertainment, and education. The number of Internet users grows with each day, which is why its influence on society expands as well. Thus, it is essential to determine whether the Internet has made society better.
Source of Information
First, the Internet is a huge library in people’s homes. Without leaving home, it is possible to visit absolutely any place in the world, for example, visit online museums and galleries. The Internet gives all the latest news, weather forecasts, and information about traffic and routes to any place. Indeed, it is difficult not to mention e-mails, which will reach the addressee in a few seconds (Subudhi and Debajani 60). Currently, the valuable and informative information of the world wide web is used by schoolchildren, students, researchers, specialists in various branches of the national economy, and people who want to know a lot about everything in the world.
The positive influence of the Internet on society was especially noticeable during the outbreak of Covid-19. New technologies and the Internet became the means by which children and students were enabled to learn online. Accordingly, the Internet has become not only a tool for acquiring knowledge, such as visiting an online library (Subudhi and Debajani 60). Nowadays, the Internet is a platform for learning where teachers, professors, pupils, and students can establish an online learning process. Consequently, if there were no Internet, educational institutions would not be able to provide educational services, and the level of education would deteriorate. Accordingly, the Internet has positively impacted people’s access to new information, events, and resources (Subudhi and Debajani 62). Additionally, the opportunity to study during Covid-19 allowed members of society to continue the educational process.
Communication
In addition, through the Internet, it is possible to contact a person almost anywhere in the world, send and receive letters in minutes, and make various purchases. Currently, people have access to the Internet to communicate with relatives, meet new people, and create online communities. Therefore, citizens from different countries can communicate and disseminate information about their own cultures and traditions. Accordingly, this will enhance the human perception of other people, which will reduce the level of discrimination (Feldmann et al. 104). In general, society will become more open to the exchange of information and cultural aspects. This will reduce conflicts based on racial, religious, and other types of differences. Therefore, the Internet improves the ability of society to dissolve its frameworks and patterns of perception.
A considerable advantage of the Internet in modern society today is the ability to lead an active lifestyle and always be aware of new events that occur anywhere in the world. Accordingly, the population becomes more aware of all the developments that occur in various parts of the world discrimination (Feldmann et al. 107). Therefore, they can adopt a positive attitude or reject specific ideas if they have evidence of ineffectiveness.
Online Jobs
The Internet has simplified the life of disabled persons or people with external weaknesses, who are not hired everywhere, arguing that they will not be capable of working or will not be liked by visitors. However, they also need to live and receive a salary in order to ensure a decent life. The same applies to women being on maternity leave because not every husband can completely support their family; sometimes, the wife has to work part-time (Denzer et al. 3). Moreover, through the Internet, single mothers can also work remotely and take care of their babies at the same time. Thus, they can improve their financial situation and not save on necessary things. In a general sense, such advancement in people’s financial situation will positively influence society. That is, people will be able to pay more taxes, which will have a positive impact on society. For example, the community can open a new institution or improve the care of parks and common areas (Denzer et al. 6). In this way, the Internet has a beneficial effect on the person and society as a whole.
Furthermore, the Internet now acts as a global marketplace where anyone can buy or sell a service or product. Thus, it is now possible to sell things, handicrafts, poems, and stories online. Accordingly, it is now possible to purchase goods and services that are not provided or not available in the city where people live. Besides, the Internet allows people to maintain their professional blogs and develop their business with the help of Internet resources, specifically sites that bring target or potential customers (Denzer et al. 7). A successful business on the Internet is a vast range of services that are provided online. At the same time, it is possible to write articles for websites or online publications, program, and create pictures. Even a lack of education is not a problem because there are millions of various courses that people can take to acquire valuable skills (Denzer et al. 8). Hence, with the help of the Internet, people can engage in self-education because it requires diligence and time. Therefore, people can learn new skills in their free time through the Internet and enhance their financial situation without spending a cent.
In addition, the Internet allows individuals to quickly search for employers and people of different specialties and a considerable number of ads from different countries and cities worldwide. Accordingly, individuals can quickly get a job and not spend deferred financial resources (Angelova et al. 407). Moreover, the overall impact on modern society, in this case, is positive because the unemployment rate decreases. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the opportunity to declare one’s s gift and sell one’s exclusive works is also a benefit. These works are available only to Internet users, and now “there are about 100 million visits per day from various search engines” (Angelova et al. 408). Consequently, on the Internet, everyone can find the product and service they need or offer it for sale.
Conclusion
Therefore, the Internet in modern human life is not only entertainment, and a way of obtaining information, knowledge, and the ability to specify the real workplace. That is, thanks to the Internet to evolve concepts as an Internet entrepreneur, online business, and network marketing. Thus, the Internet has appeared in all spheres and made people’s lives easier. This is a magnificent invention capable of making life better and more interesting, but it is important to use it correctly.
