Workplace Conflict Management and Emotional Intelligence: Evaluation of Scholarly Sources

Thesis

Using tools such as emotional intelligence in strategies for managing workplace conflicts addresses their limitations and helps prevent them, and improves the relationship between leaders and employees.

John-Eke & Akintokunbo’s Study

The first source in the Google Scholar database is the article “Conflict management as a tool for increasing organizational effectiveness.” It is a secondary source intended for the team’s managers in the organization. The article’s authors are John-Eke and Akintokunbo, who published it in the International Journal of Academic Research in Business and Social Sciences. It was published in 2020, and the facts are supported by references to previously conducted research. The article is presented in an academic tone, has a clear structure, and cites multiple scientific papers.

It has contributed to understanding the topic under study. It also provides state research on the effectiveness of conflict management strategies. These aspects give the source a score of four since it is a literary review that does not provide significant new insight.

Khosravi et al.’s Study

The next article allocated to Google Scholar is “Emotional Intelligence” by Khosravi et al. It is a primary source, intended for employees of organizations and students studying this topic. It was published in the International Journal of Project Management in 2020 and meets the criteria of currency and relevance.

The information is presented clearly and organized, divided into basic blocks. The article cites multiple scientific references. It is relevant to my topic as it considers emotional intelligence. It sees it as a way to manage workplace conflicts. This aspect contributes to a score of 5 for the article’s useful contribution.

Min et al.’s Study

The third article, “Impact of supervisory behavior on sustainable employee performance,” was also found on Google Scholar. This primary source is intended for team managers at the company and learners interested in this topic. Min published the content in PloS One in 2020, ensuring the source’s relevance. Scientific references in the work support the integrity of the facts provided. The information is divided into sections and presented in understandable language.

It is valuable to my topic because it discusses the role of a leader in conflict resolution. It also focuses on strategies that can help with this. It can be estimated at four since its limitation is the lack of time to collect information.
