Employee Benefits and Compensation Comparison

Mecklenburg County (2016) allows employees to choose a standard or enhanced medical plan, which defines the benefits they can receive. Middlesex Hospital (2014) and VNA (2015) do not have such an option. They pay more attention to the fact whether the employees are full-time or part-time workers. All organizations emphasize that benefits can be paid by both hospitals and employees, depending on their type. The basic benefits are the same. They include medical insurance, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan, holidays and vacation, assistance program, disability, etc.

Still, VNA offers a pet insurance plan, which is unique. 401 (k) plan is provided by VNA and Mecklenburg County. On the other hand, Middlesex Hospital includes shift premium and health club membership. Mecklenburg County values employee assistance more than other organizations allowing to transfer prescriptions to mail order programs and providing help with health-related issues. Moreover, it has an employee assistance program that is available for all household members. Middlesex Hospital, in its turn, allows getting dental and vision plans for family members. VNA also provides such an opportunity for spouses and children.
