Addressing COVID-19 and Health Management

As COVID-19 spreads further across the globe, maintaining proper health management and safety has become a paramount objective for citizens across the globe. Since the death toll has been rising exponentially, especially in the U.S., complying with principal health management strategies is critical to containing the disease (World Health Organization, 2020). Therefore, people must follow the set regulations, particularly wear masks and maintain social distance and isolation, until the virus is contained so that the disease does not take an even greater scale.

Wearing masks has to be considered an absolute requirement for maintaining the rates of the disease low. Although the focus on wearing masks was quite strong once the standards for health management during the pandemic were introduced, further slight improvements made people reconsider their attitudes and adopt a more relaxed approach to wearing masks (World Health Organization, 2020). The results have been quite drastic so far, with the number of people contracting the coronavirus having nearly doubled over the past month (World Health Organization, 2020). Therefore, in the specified scenario, it will be necessary to persuade people to change their behaviors.

Another situation in which persuasive skills will be needed is to convince patients to continue consuming their medication. As personal experiences have shown, a range of patients yield to panic and refuse from taking medicine regularly. In the third scenario, as a nurse, one must ensure that patients continue to eat healthily. Similarly to taking medications, maintainina g proper diet may become difficult during the pandemic, partially because of the stress and anxiety experienced by patients. Thus, it is a doubtless responsibility of a nurse to convince patients to healthilylthy and manage their diet accordingly.

Since COVID-19 has become a pandemic, having affected nearly every country on Earth, compliance with health safety rules must become the primary goal for all citizens. The specified requirement includes two particular demands, which are wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing standards. The described measures might seem as minor, yet they will help to stop the further spreading of the disease and protect vulnerable populations.
