Effective Management Practices at Work

Introduction and Methodology

While companies are driven by profits and competition, they should not disregard the well-being of their workers. Employees should stay motivated to perform to the best of their abilities, and their motivation depends on a work-life balance, division of labor, work stability, and teamwork. This report aims to discuss the research into effective management practices directed toward maintaining workers’ motivation. It will discuss the benefits of time management and demonstrate the importance of a healthy working environment for employee motivation. This study applied a qualitative research methodology and used both primary and secondary data.

Results and Findings

This research revealed that time management is essential for every successful company because it improves employees’ quality of work and benefits their psychological well-being and motivation. Management plays an important role in time management as managers develop time schedules and control the performance of business activities. Employees obtain knowledge about time management through training programs and personal observations at the workplace. Along with time management, work-life balance is vital for employee motivation. According to Sutton (2020), individuals should be able to control their working experiences to have time for other important life events. Work-life balance means avoiding harm to employees’ health and personal lives. As Anand et al. (2018) note, adhering to policies that regulate workplace behavior improves the company’s public image. Therefore, it is important for companies to maintain the use of positive tactics, such as avoiding procrastination and preventing psychological exhaustion. Finally, division of labor is also important since it boosts employees’ morale by allowing them to develop their talents and facilitates task management by clarifying employees’ responsibilities.

Workload management implies developing plans and strategies for future business activities. Planning involves activities that guide organizations’ processes and include, for example, scheduling and task picking. Further, as Vellyana and Muliani (2020) explain, the workload management strategy is intended to enhance job allocation, save resources and time, and give a sense of direction. Workload management promotes teamwork by distributing tasks among employees, creating a sense of responsibility, and setting performance expectations. It also sets clear deadlines by which specific tasks should be completed. Although workload management is essential for every company, it sometimes can be ineffective because of delays in employees’ work completion. According to Xavier et al. (2021), conflicting deadlines contradict the concept of schedules and undermine reliability. This problem can be solved by businesses’ negotiating deadlines, setting clear priorities, and being flexible in the face of emerging threats.

Conclusion

This report reviewed the influence of time management, task assignment, division of labor, and management’s operations control. It also emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy and stress-free work environment. One can conclude that every management team should involve in developing plans and strategies that would promote employees’ well-being and improve the workflow. Management is also responsible for regulating employees’ responsibilities and allocating resources.
