Introduction
SWOT Summary
In general, the research conducted in terms of the project shows that the integration of technologies into the work of civil aviation can have some advantages and threats that should be considered. It contributes to more effective use of funds, better data collection, and improved MRO procedures (Esposito, Lazoi, Margarito, & Quarta, 2019). Moreover, it helps to acquire the knowledge needed to improve the work of the sphere (Esposito et al., 2019). At the same time, there are still some threats, such as the need for extra investment to support the further evolution of the sphere and additional training to educate workers on how to function in a new environment.
All investigated platforms provide a wide range of opportunities for the creation of a new digitalized environment and employment of more effective MRO procedures contributing to the reduction of costs and achievement of outstanding results (Vieira & Loures, 2016). However, it is critical to consider ethical issues, the growing risk of cyber-attacks, and the requirement to eliminate the inappropriate understanding of current technologies and their use in the sphere.
Conclusion
Finally, the research does not reveal unacceptable weaknesses and threats. It describes the existing trends in commercial aviation and the ways technologies can be applied to obtain better results. There are still some possible limitations and risks that should be taken into account when continuing the digitalization of the discussed sphere; however, outlined advantages evidence that the expected benefits will contribute to the achievement of desired goals. It means that the research proves the favorable influence of new devices and technologies on MRO practices and shows that the majority of approaches and platforms that are used nowadays should be promoted to become an integral part of aviation in the future.
