Future of Modernization in US

Technology advancement has taken the United States by a large part of their social and economic lives. These technological advancements are manifested in many sectors including medical advancement, genetic technology that lets humans alter or even create a new life altogether, and development in rocket propulsion. These changes have been felt in information and technology that have played a great role in advancing technology. There has been the renovation of different cultures and social institutions in general within the country. This modern society has increased population thus division of labor since there are different areas of specialization within the society. In turn, this has increased productivity in society generally with people having much more income than it was in the past. Modernization in the U.S has destabilized the social systems of family and culture leading to a commercialized kind of life, which stresses competence and money. Human beings relate with others to achieve some form of self-interest rather than a social bond. Prosperity and bureaucracy are emphasized in the society while relationships within the society have been neglected. (Macionis, 2006)

Modernization is more likely to continue in the United States because human beings are continuously trying to advance their lives. People in this modern society constantly reflect on what the future will offer. They believe that the future holds innovation and findings that will be able to make their lives better. Modern society is organized in their everyday activities so that they will be able to make the best of every minute they have. People continue to fight for better living conditions and maintaining high standards in society. This creates the need to expand in various sectors of the economy. Scientists are continually trying to make discoveries in various areas of society. In this way, many things continue to be invented within modern society. Modernization is progressive and thus it is obvious that a modern society like the United States will continue to advance and rebuilding.

I believe that modernization is a worldwide trend in many areas. Many people in modern societies use computers and the internet, which in turn spreads throughout the world. Many developing countries are nowadays having many people who have access to computers. This introduction of information technology has been able to help other countries access the technology being used in modern societies. People can imitate the culture of modern society in terms of dressing, language, and other technological changes. Information, products, and services are spreading in other countries very fast thus ensuring they catch up with modern life. There are constant communications between different countries on various issues that relate to technological changes thus ensuring technology change from one nation to another. This has assured that modernization is a worldwide trend that is being embraced by many.

The theory of conflict and change by Karl Marx reflects more about modernization. In this theory, conflict forces society to change from one age to another. In industrial societies, the conflicts between capitalists and laborers drove the society towards a new system of socialism. This conflict ensured that society moved forward to a more acceptable issue that would not bring conflict. The society that was experiencing inequality would resolve their conflicts and thus a new way of life was born.

These changes affect the lives of many people in society thus leading to growth. Disagreements within the society ensure that people have to propose new ideas of dealing with conflict leading to the building of new institutions. Many societies have experienced conflicts that have led to where they are in the present day including the European revolution and the China dynasties. The conflict and change theory thus best reflects modernization in many societies.
