The latest US president, Donald Trump can be considered one of the most controversial characters in the history of American presidency. He is a controversial figure by himself, however, after his term began, the American public had divergent views. Some consider him to be a powerful man, a skillful politician, and according to his slogan, he actually “made America great again”. Others are outraged by his aggressive and racist policies, which manifested in building a wall on the border of Mexico, and restrictions to Muslims for entering the country. A massive portion of current American citizens have experienced dreadful effects of his policy. However, it is evident that Trump elevated America up to his vision – and the economy, labor market, as well as international prestige were immensely improved.
President Trump proved to be a charismatic, powerful leader: with his seemingly radical but quite effective policy making, he was able to change the country for the better in two years. The effects of his presidency include creating 5 million new jobs and increase in minimum wage. Donald Trump was able to reinforce the economy only because of his straight-to-the-point decision-making. The incoming flow of immigrants into the USA was also brutally suppressed, which gave Americans the stability of being able to acquire jobs as the market was not overflown with immigrant workers. Despite the criticism that Trump received from a large portion of American citizens, even his opposition cannot argue with these facts.
Aside from economy, Donald Trump was able to reinforce the international prestige of the United States. Just as his election campaign promised, he truly made America greater, by establishing connections with the most powerful leaders on the planet – including the supposed enemy Kim Jong-un. President Trump strengthened the image of America as a powerful nation that other countries are hesitant to interfere with. Enhancing America’s soft power, stopping work immigrants who plunder the economy by sending money to their families in motherlands, and protecting the country from a Muslim threat – these are the are undeniable virtues that Trump presidency has brought.
