Introduction
Christianity is one of the global religions with millions of followers in various countries. It also has a unique set of values and fundamental concepts comprising its core. The Bible introduces numerous ideas that form the framework necessary for realizing the nature of God and how it impacts people’s everyday lives. Moreover, the Gospel’s essential beliefs form individuals’ attitudes toward themselves, others, and interactions within society. For this reason, their knowledge is critical for finding God and accepting people’s unique place in the world. Moreover, Scripture and its main ideas are essential for people trying to find their answers about their souls and realize the nature of spirituality from the Christian perspective. The triune of God, the nature of humanity, the unique role of Jesus as the savior, and the idea of restoration shape the Christian worldview and behaviors and help to understand the importance of human value, dignity, and faith.
Gospel Essential Beliefs
Nature of God
Finding the nature of God is one of the essential elements of religion. For Christianity, he is omnipresent and can be found in every object as he created them (Greear, 2023). However, this fact might be confusing for individuals, especially if God’s characteristics and creation are unclear. Thus, the Scripture states that “God is one” and he is almighty (The Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011, Deuteronomy 6:4-6). At the same time, God is revealed in three distinct incarnations of the Trinity. Following this idea, the triune of God implies the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Greear, 2023). The being of every person is equal to the whole being of the Lord, and their understanding helps to realize the nature of Christianity.
God is also viewed as the creator of the Universe, which proves his almighty nature and omnipresence. The Bible says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and earth,” which can be considered the appearance of the world (The Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011, Genesis 1:1). The act of creation is one of the greatest miracles explaining the unique nature and beauty of all things surrounding people. In such a way, in Christianity, God is an almighty and omnipresent creature existing in the three persons, and, at the same time, he is the great mystery inspiring people and motivating them.
Nature of Humanity
The nature and purpose of humanity are other important problems for Christianity. Initially, all human beings were created after the image and likeness of God (Greear, 2023). As a Father, he loved them and wanted them to be happy. Adam and Eve had no sins and were blessed by living in Paradise (Greear, 2023). However, the original sin, or the first act of disobedience committed by Adam and Eve, altered human nature. The Bible says, “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people because all sinned” (The Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011, Romans 5:12). Eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, or the Fall resulted in the emergence of the idea of death, sin, and corrupted the human nature.
This concept explains the presence of good and evil within a single human being. Initially created by God as a pure creature, every individual can be sinful because of various qualities that emerged after the Fall (De Cruz & De Smedt, 2021). At the same time, people possess free will and can choose their own path: “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve” (The Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011, Joshua 24:15). It means that the nature of humanity is closely linked to the act of creation, God’s initial intentions, and the values necessary for finding purpose, which is restoring peace in individuals’ souls, renewal and redemption.
Nature of Jesus
Jesus Christ is a central figure for Christianity and understanding God and his will. As the son of God, he was the perfect being who cultivated love, spirituality, and faith in other people. He asked people to renounce sin, believe in God, and believe in life that will never end, meaning that fear of death was unnecessary (McTavish F, 2018). In such a way, Jesus’ kingdom was a concept of the world where people have a certain level of consciousness and behave in ways that help others (McTavish, 2018). Its primary purpose was to avoid sin and find salvation in God and spirituality.
However, Jesus Christ was crucified by humans, and his death and resurrection became the reason why human sins are forgiven. His sacrifice became central to the Christian worldview as it established the basis of religion. First, it showed that commitment, belief, and readiness to help others could be a way to God and salvation (Greear, 2023). Second, Jesus’ activity established the values and behaviors fundamental to the Christian worldview. Finally, his life, death, and resurrection show there is a place for redemption, renewal, and salvation for everyone (course). Acceptance of God, his commandments, and avoiding sins are vital for every follower and should be viewed as a way to build Jesus’s kingdom.
Restoration
Christianity emphasizes the idea that every individual has the chance for salvation as it is never too late to come to God. The Scripture says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (The Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011, Ephesians 2:8-9). It means that true faith, acceptance of God, and service can help to resolve human problems and acquire salvation (“CWV-101-301 topic 5 overview,” n.d.). As far as every human being is God’s child, he is ready to forgive and guarantee restoration for those who are ready to change. From this perspective, eternal life with God starts with the indwelling of the Spirit (“CWV-101-301 topic 5 overview,” n.d.). God wants to help everyone to gain renewal and become better and is ready to accept their faithful prayers. This idea is central to the Christian worldview and mentality.
Moreover, grace and repentance are fundamental ideas for society’s transformation. A transformation starts from the inside and radical change in the way of thinking (“CWV-101-301 topic 5 overview,” n.d.). A person who believes and has faith can promote positive changes around him/her. Communities that follow the ideas of grace and redemption can impact a greater number of people globally. In such a way, Jesus’s Kingdom on earth can be established only when the society is transformed by those who believe and are ready to help others. The Spirit of God working inside every person is vital for renewal and finding a new purpose in life. From this perspective, redemption is the first step to becoming better and finding the own path to building a better world and supporting other individuals.
Christian Foundations
In such a way, the Christian worldview rests on the fundamental ideas of the nature of God, Jesus’s unique role, the nature of humanity, and restoration. The concept of the Holy Trinity implies that God is present in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. Understanding this idea is vital for Christians’ search for God and attempts to accept him (De Cruz & De Smedt, 2021). Moreover, Jesus, as the Son, was once among human beings and his death became the greatest sacrifice showing that people also had a chance for salvation (“CWV-101-301 topic 5 overview,” n.d.). These concepts are fundamental for all believers and people who want to study Christianity.
Moreover, the concept of original sin is vital for religion. It implies that Adam and Eve’s misbehavior opened the door to evil and death (De Cruz & De Smedt, 2021). However, as a loving father, God is ready to forgive everyone if they come to him. It explains the importance of grace, restoration, and redemption. The transformation of society can be guaranteed if all individuals accept their sins, avoid old thinking, and turn to the basics of Christianity, accepting the Holy Trinity and the central ideas cultivated by Jesus during his ministry on earth.
Analysis of the Implications of the Christian Worldview
Christianity can be viewed as one of the humanistic religions giving much attention to human value and dignity. Its greatest strength is that it considers life the greatest gift of God, which means it should be protected and appreciated. The Scripture says, “God created mankind in his own image,” meaning that dignity is critical for every individual (The Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011, Genesis 1:27). It means that any attempt to humiliate a person or disregard his/her value is an act against God and cannot be accepted by society. At the same time, Christianity views all people as equal. Using these ideas, it is possible to create a fair and just society with much attention to people’s lives.
Moreover, the Christian concept of salvation differs from another perspective. For instance, in Hinduism, salvation is the full cycle of death and rebirth necessary to attain the highest spiritual state (Greear, 2023). Nevertheless, Christianity offers salvation through trusting in Christ’s good works (“CWV-101-301 topic 5 overview,” n.d.). This difference is significant and impacts people’s thinking and behavior. Moreover, the concept of restoration might seem confusing to followers; however; trying to find good, individuals accept the foundations of religion and reject evil. They focus on cultivating humanistic values and respecting others who are also God’s creatures and deserve to be treated appropriately.
Conclusion
Altogether, Christianity is one of the global religions which focuses on humanistic values and specific foundations. The triune of God is a fundamental concept of the religion, implying that God is one; however, it can be found in the three incarnations, such as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The being of each of these persons is equal to the whole being of God and is vital for understanding Christianity. Moreover, its worldview introduces the specific nature of humanity. Because of the sin committed by Adam and Eve, people became sinners and opened the door to death and evil. However, the loving God provides the chance for restoration for all his children. Faith, redemption, and grace are core values for the worldview as they impact people’s mentalities and behavior. Jesus, as God’s son on earth, showed followers that sacrifice, service, and redemption are possible if people follow his ideas.
