Healthcare Economics: How Private Insurance Works

Introduction

Healthcare and economics can be defined as issues related to the allocation of healthcare services to human being. In economics, health is evaluated in accordance with needs for medication and its consequences through economic evaluation. This article is designed to explain different issues related to healthcare and economic as a basis for good and better health. In most cases, health patients do not understand the cost of illness and the value of money that is invested to cater for human life (Fanchiang, 2008). Moreover, costs of health services differ with the outcome for example; people who indulge themselves in smoking will ruin their health and thus spending a lot catering for their treatment.

Discussion

Health care and economics is aimed at providing good and better standards to human being.Despite these major factors that affect human being such as taking drugs and smoking, finances and costs issued to cater for health are distributed fairly to those in need and according to one’s ability to pay back. Apart from these, health care systems are designed to cater for all people irrespective of tribe, gender or background. However, healthcare services are responsible for responding to people’s expectation even though not all people are able to access good health care services (Fanchiang, 2008).

World health organizations have come up with services such as ‘single payer system’. This system has helped in improving the economy since people who are less fortunate cannot afford to fund good health care services are able to access health services easily (Fanchiang, 2008). Similarly, different governments have come up with co-payment scheme meant to uplift health care so that the prices of drugs can tie with the requirement of the patients, i.e. through economy of scale; the government has got the power to bargain drug prices directly from the manufacturing companies and also negotiating medical fees with medical professions.

Method

During the study, the company selected personnel to conduct a research that is aimed at determining the number of persons who realize the importance of healthcare and economics in terms of diseases that causes severe ailments (Gary, 2004). They therefore used two screening questionnaires that were aimed at examining the population of people who smoked tobacco and the cost of money that is used for catering treatments. Unfortunately, uneven solutions were arrived at whereby; collected samples showed that out of 30 people gave reasons that were different from the rest. It was conducted that although people had medical insurance some did not use it to seek good and better medical services even though the cost of the drugs were lowed (Phelps, 2003).

On the other hand, the economy varied since increase in the number of people led to increase in the prices of drugs and the services provided by the doctors. The personnel came up with several reasons after conducting the research that; if such a situation ever arises the interpretation of the results will be changed so that people of different age will be questioned regarding the same. Moreover changes will help in examining the various solutions regarding healthcare and economic (Drummond, 2005). The other method was conducting research to the companies that were manufacturing cigarettes, researchers found out that for every 5 days in a week 1 million dozens of cigarettes were transported to various parts of the constituencies. They therefore discovered that out of the 20 people selected among the constituency 10 had different opinion about the prices and the consumption of cigarettes. Apart from these reasons, a few people suggested that most idlers and jobless persons were the most affected and even in colleges due to influence from other students (Gary, 2004).

Statistical analysis

After the process, the personnel found that about 15 people out of the selected knew the dangers of smoking. It was discovered that the people at the coastal constituency were unable to deal with issues of healthcare and economics (Drummond, 2005). The majority had a ‘yes/no’ format meaning that several people in the region were not smoking at all times. The researcher’s questionnaires suggested that although many people knew the dangers of smoking they still bought packs of tobacco regardless the hike in the prices. On the other hand, it appeared that people did not fear the dangers and despite the economic pitfall those still smoking did not control but instead smoked more less than before.

Conclusion

Healthcare and economics is a very important subject to learn and most of the researchers still figure out the best way to understand how different people understand the dangerous causes of smoking. The current study does not provide full information regarding healthcare and for this reason it is very easy to argue that due to the economic growth several people have realized the importance of saving for the future generation. Apart from these, a genetic solution would be required at any available base level so that beneficial interventions to the organization and the people can be reached. Researchers have also come up with a more accurate method to try and provide therapy to those smoking and give them advice on how to quit (Phelps, 2003). Future research writers should examine the effects on different people, under gender variations on the effects of smoking.
