Membership in the US: Voluntary or Mandatory?

Introduction

There are many disputes in the U.S. about the opportunity for states to secede from the Union. For example, California and Texas are the most active states in this sense because they have the most active movements for secession. They dream about independence and self-ruling, complaining about the impossibility of being in one country with others with diametrical political and ethical views. Besides, they remind us about some periods in the past when they had achieved this already and point to instances of secession all over the world. States of the U. S. should have the right to secede from the Union.

Main body

Independence is the greatest value of any American, and it has to be respected. The U. S. appeared as an independent country on lands that were colonized and developed by the first Pilgrims. They were seeking a better place for them where they could live freely and as they wanted. Certainly, Americans were fighting together for their freedom against occupants, but this only emphasizes the need of being voluntary to choose in the question of secession. If there is no choice, then ancestors’ deaths were in vain, and it cannot be admitted by patriots. The spirit of independence is in the blood of true Americans and the thing on which America stands; thus, if it is evaporated, then the foundation of the U. S. is, too.

Conclusion

To conclude, claims of some states to be able to secede from the Union have to be satisfied. It has to be done to prevent America from more hard and fatal disintegration, for there are many controversies between its parts. Therefore, to honor the ancestors’ spirit and to match the image of America as an independent, autonomic and free man, states of the U. S. should have the right to become self-ruling countries.
